Painting Helpers : Pyramids

Here’s a simple idea that makes painting a lot easier: pyramids. My homemade version is shown here, using some wood scraps and screws.

If you are interested in an excellent commercial version of these, take a look at the Painter’s Pyramid site. It’s amazing how an inexpensive device can help so much.

  • Thanks for demonstrating the benefit of the Painter’s Pyramid. Driving nails in boards is cheap. All it takes is gathering the material, cutting the wood to size, drilling the holes, screwing in the screws (ensuring that they are all at the same height), filing down the screws or fixing the damaged wood and then disassembling or finding a good place to store them. With that you will also need to be careful not to step on them, avoid using any material that may make the nails rust, be comfortable that you will probably need to make them again and go on being happy that you avoided spending about $7 for a pack of Painter’s Pyramids.

You want a real challenge, try making our newest item at home, the Finishing Turntable (www.finishingturntable.com.

    Thanks again.

Thanks for your feedback, Mike. I was working on a rough project at the time (sealing chicken nesting boxes) and needed a quick and dirty solution to keep moving. I highly recommend that woodworkers take a look at your very reasonably priced products, for all the reasons you mention.
